Raphael Anthony Verderosa

Raphael Anthony Verderosa, born to the late Shirley Minster and Ralph Verderosa at MacNeal Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL on September 13, 1972. He passed away in Baltimore, MD on September 15, 2020. He is survived by his loving fiance, Elizabeth F. Deatrick; As a young man, he worked with his father handling horses and found his passion....horse racing. After he graduated in 1990 from Catonsville High School in Maryland he followed his passion of racing. Raphael became a Professional Jockey who raced in over 2,500 races from 1990 until 2013. His races took him from Pimlico, Laurel, Golf Stream, Saratoga and Kentucky. After he stopped racing he started working miscellaneous jobs as a laborer, but always wanted to return to racing. Unfortunately, his next race was the hardest of his life, cancer. He fought hard and long to overcome his illness and will be remembered as a true fighter, until the end. He will be missed by many and loved by all. All Services will be private.
