Mary Rothenhoefer

On June 28, 2026 Mary Clara Hynes Rothenhoefer passed away at Lorien Mt Airy surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Thomas Charles Patrick Francis McGee Rothenhoefer. She is survived by her loving children Timothy J. Rothenhoefer, Janet M. Carroll (Mike), Carol A. Piechowiak (Bill), Tricia E. Elgavish (Ro); cherished Nana of Kayla, Thomas, Joe, Ethan, Marley, Katie, Jeremy, Jacob, and Great granddaughter Ellie. She was preceded in death by her parents Mary and James Hynes and her sister Helen Harlow.

She was a quiet person which made her a great listener, who loved to laugh. She had many hobbies including gardening, sewing, quilting, cake decorating, cross-stitch, and crosswords to name a few, which she shared with family and friends. She always had a love for children. She started her adult life as a teacher but gave up her career to fully focus all her love and attention on her own children. This continued with her grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to visit at MacNabb Funeral Home 301 Frederick Road Catonsville, MD 21228 on July 2,2026 from 6-8 PM. Burial held in a private ceremony at New Cathedral Cemetery on July 2nd, 10 AM. A memorial mass will be held on July 25, 2026. Details to follow.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in 

honor of her Aunt Clara and Aunt Nettie who were religious sisters devoted to Christ.
