Lucy Catherine Mondy

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Lucy Catherine Mondy of Ellicott City on May 24, 2026. She is survived by her loving parents, Kara and John Mondy, her sisters Sophia and Caroline, her grandparents Nancy and Larry Dussler, as well as her devoted aunts and uncles: Caitlin Dussler, Brenda Lambert and Mark, David, Michael, and Klaudia Mondy. She will be dearly missed by countless cousins, friends, and loved ones who were touched by her bright spirit.

Though her time with us was tragically short, Lucy lived her life with an unwavering passion for the arts. She poured herself into her paintings and was an inspiration to those who knew her, reminding us to embrace creativity. From an early age, Lucy found joy in music. Whether she was playing the piano, flute, guitar, or singing, music remained a source of comfort and strength. The beautiful music that Lucy created will remain in our hearts forever.

One of Lucy's favorite activities was her yearly family trip to the beach where she spent hours collecting shells, searching for sand crabs, building sand castles, and jumping waves with her family. Her gentle spirit, warm personality, great sense of humor, and quick wit made her a cherished friend. Throughout her life, Lucy created hand-crafted gifts for family and friends. These gifts will be forever treasured.

While we struggle to understand this profound loss, we find comfort in the vibrant way Lucy lived each day. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed. A funeral mass will be held at St. Paul Church in Ellicott City on Friday, June 19 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a Celebration of Life immediately following at Turf Valley Resort, also in Ellicott City.
