Leo V. Murphy

Leo V. Murphy, 79, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on September 8, 2023, in Landsdowne. He was born on July 22, 1944, in Baltimore. Leo was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Leo is survived by his loving sons, Michael J. Murphy and Daniel J. Murphy and wife, Katie, as well as his cherished grandsons, Nathan and Jason. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael A. Murphy, his mother, Helen S. Murphy, his brother, Michael P. Murphy, and his sister, Helen 'Kathy' Horney. Leo graduated from Catonsville High School in 1962 and served in the US Navy from 1965 to 1971 aboard the submarine USS Von Steuben.

Leo had a passion for photography, cheering on the Baltimore Colts, Orioles and Ravens, and visiting Laurel Park. He also passed down his love of catching and eating crabs to his sons and grandsons. In accordance with Leo's wishes, there will be no services held. His memory will be honored privately by his family and close friends.
