Kevin Andre Turner, of Columbia, Maryland, transitioned on March 12, 2026, surrounded by family.
Kevin was born on February 8, 1960, in Washington, DC, to Valerie Moss Turner and Augustus Oliver Turner, Sr. He was raised in Washington, DC, alongside his brothers Marc and Sean, and later spent part of his formative years in California.
Kevin proudly enlisted in the United States Navy in 1984, where he served as a medic embedded with the United States Marine Corps. His service reflected his strength, dedication, and commitment to others.
He was a lifelong learner who valued education and growth. Kevin attended American University in Washington, DC, where he served as editor of the African American student newspaper, UHURU. He later earned a graduate degree from Southeastern University in Washington, DC.
Above all, Kevin was an amazing man, a devoted father, and a loving grandfather. He is survived by his children, Kyle, Kendall, and Halle, and his grandson, Chance. He is also survived by his brothers Sean Turner, Augustus Oliver Turner, Jr, Paul Turner and his sisters Razia Mateen and Stacia Fogg, as well as a host of extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Valerie Moss Turner and Augustus Oliver Turner, Sr., and his brother, Marc Turner.
Kevin will be remembered for his strength, his love for his family, his service to his country, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him.
Celebration of Life
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kevin’s life.

MILITARY BURIAL UPDATE
A military honors ceremony will be conducted to honor of Kevin’s life. The service will last approximately 20 minutes and will begin promptly, per the cemetery’s guidelines.
