Jordan Matthew Bartels, age 28, born on May 5, 1997, in Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on December 30, 2025.
Jordan was funny, smart, and witty, with a true heart of gold. He had a contagious sense of humor and a kindness that made people feel instantly comfortable. Jordan lived life with passion and authenticity, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Jordan had a deep passion for skateboarding, which was more than a hobby—it was a way of life. He spent countless hours skating, finding freedom, focus, and joy on his board. He was also a talented musician who enjoyed playing the guitar, playing chess, and spending time with his friends. Whether skateboarding through the streets, playing a game of chess, or sharing laughs with those he loved, Jordan cherished connection and lived fully in the moment.
Jordan lived in Catonsville, Maryland, and was a proud graduate of Catonsville High School.
Jordan was deeply loved by his family. He is survived by his parents, Joshua Bartels and Kelly Bartels; his brother, Devin Bartels; his grandfather, William “Bill” Miller; his uncles, Adam and Brandon; his cousins, Jared Bartels and Hannah Bartels; his Great Aunt Nancy; Great Jimi Miller; and hosts of family and friends. Above all, he is survived by his beautiful daughter, Josie, who was the light of his life and will forever carry his love with her.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Donna Miller; his Mom Mom; Melvin and Leona Washington; his grandfather Gregory Bartels; and his grandfather Lindsay.
Arrangements are being handled by MacNabb Funeral Home, with visitation from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a gathering immediately afterward at Barebones in Ellicott City.
