Jean Louise Tribulski, née Albert, 88, of Stone Harbor, NJ and Catonsville, MD passed away suddenly on September 2, 2026. Though not tall in stature, the hole her tenacious personality will leave in the lives of many will be immeasurably large. Jean is predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Peter Joseph Tribulski Jr. and survived by her four children: Wendy Tribulski, Peter Joseph Tribulski III and wife Patty (Lavan), Matthew Tribulski and wife Larissa Smith, Brian Tribulski and wife Jennifer (Schmidt), her eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Jean was born in 1937 in Baltimore, Maryland, the only child of Arleigh H. Albert and Emeline Rae Albert, An erudite woman to her core, Jean was a scholar of the world and the classroom. She earned both a nursing certificate and a B.S.N from Johns Hopkins University, a Masters of Nursing from Emory University, and a Ph.D. from New York University. Jean used her knowledge and gifts to serve others during her extensive healthcare career. Jean was a faculty member at Seton Hall University and Rutgers University and worked as a Staff Nurse and as a Director of Nursing. She also served as a Clinical Editor for RN magazine. Committed to the education and health of others, she held positions in the NJ branch of the American Heart Association and the NJ state Nurses’ Association.
Outside of her career in nursing, while living in Stone Harbor, NJ, Jean was an active member of the Woman’s Civic Club, Garden Club, Stone Harbor Property Owners’ Association, and the South Shore Stitchers Quilt Guild. After joining the community at Charlestown in Catonsville, MD, Jean joined the Quilting and Fiber Arts group, the Benevolent Fund Committee, and served on the residents’ council as the health services representative.
Jean loved to travel with her husband and saw many parts of the world. She read veraciously and even mentioned she was not sure why she never became a librarian. Jean was a patron of the arts in any form and loved to attend musical performances. She left her mark on this world and in her friends’ and family’s living rooms through her exquisite sewing, quilting, and porcelain doll masterpieces. True to her learned nature, Jean was adept with technology, being an early adopter of digital quilt planning tools and computer-based sewing machines.
She was the matriarch of her family and played an active role in each generation of her family. From hosting holidays, to remembering everyone’s special events, and leveraging her colorful language to elicit a perfectly timed chuckle during a family picture – she was always there for her loved ones. She lived her life to the fullest, was assertive, passionate, and strong-minded. Her absence will be felt far and wide.
Jean's family will host a memorial service in the Refectory at Charlestown Senior Living, 713 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville, MD on Sunday, September 27, 2026 starting at 12:00 pm.
