Fatha Glamer Mohamed was born on January 4th, 1938, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Mary Mohamed and the late Fatha G. Mohamed. He was the third child of his mother's six children. On Wednesday July 28th, Glamer received his wings and was called home with the Lord.
At an early age, Glamer wanted to pursue a career in the military. After attending Frederick Douglass High School, he joined the U.S. Navy where he served honorably for three years. He then joined the U.S. Army where he attained the rank of Master Sergeant E-8. Glamer retired from the military after a total of 24 years with a plethora of medals and commendations. Glamer went on to be employed by McDonald's Restaurant as an Equipment Specialist where he was charged with the maintenance and repair of McDonald's equipment at several area restaurants.
Glamer met his first wife, Virginia, in high school; they were married in 1955 and had three children: Fatha, Donna, and Shari.
He met Angela while on a tour of duty in Panama; they married and had two children: Grissel and Anita.
Glamer attended St. Mary's Episcopal Church, was an altar boy and remained a member for many years.
Glamer was always a kind, thoughtful person who was always willing to help people. He would repair almost anything, and would gladly do so if the need was there and if you were willing to listen to his views on politics. Glamer loved to sing as well and never missed an opportunity to do so--he only needed an audience. He enjoyed the simple things in life, either sitting by the beach, enjoying nature and his cold beer, or sitting at home watching his baseball and football games. He was an excellent cook who loved fixing the best dishes, and his lamb curry was the favorite of many.
Glamer was preceded in death by the love of his life and his devoted wife Angela. They are now reunited in peace. Glamer leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Fatha L. Mohamed; four daughters: Donna Tyler, Shari Simpson, Grissel Day and Ana Webb; a brother: Felipe de Jesus; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
