Doris Mae Burda

Doris Mae Burda of Catonsville, Md., formerly of Ocean Pines died Friday November 8, 2019. Doris was born in Baltimore on December 9, 1931 to Adelaide Townsend and Charles A. Crandall. She was an avid dancer, gardener, puzzle-solver, and beach enthusiast. She was an executive secretary at the House of Delegates in Annapolis and at UMBC Alumni House. She married John Thomas “Dick” Burda April 11, 1952. Doris and Dick raised their three children in Howard County, Md. before retiring to Ocean Pines. Doris is predeceased by Dick Burda, her two brothers, Charles “Bunky” Crandall and Raymond Crandall. Doris is survived by her daughter, Charon Burda of Catonsville, Md., son, Jay Burda and wife Marie of Reisterstown, Md., son, Ricky Burda and wife Annemarie of Westminster, Md., and her brother, Edward Crandall and wife Janet of Ocala, Fl. Doris is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Friday November 22, 2019 at St. Paul’s Church in Ellicott City, Md.
